The Chiropractor has Improved my Overall Health, and now I don’t take any Medication of any kind

I have attended a chiropractor for about nine years now. What I learned is that chiropractic isn’t just for when you have a sore back – it is actually for all over body health. I learned that the spine is probably the most delicate part of the body and if not looked after can effect other organs health. For example, if the lower spine is not in correct alignment it can lead to menstrual problems, cramps and constipation. It takes only ten minutes to check and fix it and I found those symptoms immediately disappeared.

Since I’ve been using chiropractic I have not had to take painkillers, anti-biotics or any other kinds of medication. I just go to the chiropractor as soon as I feel a twinge of anything and then I don’t get whatever it was coming my way.

To anyone thinking of using chiropractic I would say; just try it as an alternative to going to the GP every few weeks for medicine etc. It is so much better in the long term.

What I like about the treatment in Abbey Chiro is that it is so fast! I came in literally unable to walk one time and fifteen minutes later I was grand again!

Chiropractic Care has improved my overall health dramically and I am hitting the golf ball an extra 20 yards!!!

I have been seeing Dr. Bethany for the last couple of months and I’m astonished with the difference its made and the results are absolutely staggering in such a short period of time, considering I’ve had endless back problems for many years. My profession, being an accountant, also causes me to have constant strains on my back from sitting for long periods of time.

After seeing Dr. Bethany and having my back and hips adjusted, the results were immediate and satisfying. The difference in just a few adjustments was unbelievable. My symptoms of pain and stiffness have been greatly diminished, I certainly believe I’m on the right road to recovery, as I’ve always had to deal with back pain from time to time, I honestly thought it was something I was going to live with.

I was also very pleased with the thoroughness of the examination as well as Dr. Bethany’s knowledge level, each session brought up something new and Dr. Bethany had a solution for it. I consider myself a prime example that Chiropractic Care can not only deal with any number of pain related problems, but can also improve your general health.

I have no hesitation in recommending Abbey Chiro, I was apprehensive at first as I didn’t know what to expect, but as a result of the Chiropractic Care, this is the way forward as it gets to the underlining problem without causing too much discomfort and it may even find a problem you didn’t even know you had!!!

I would highly recommend a friend or a family member that was curious about chiropractic because it’s great not taking medications everyday for pain and it’s even a healthier approach to being pain free. I would recommend to anyone who has never gone to at least try it out and give it a chance. To be quite frank it’s one of the best things one could do to improve one’s well-being.

Ways to get 5-7 Servings per day of fruits and vegetablesDo you eat 5-7 servings of fruits and vegetables every day? It’s pretty hard to get one or two servings a day, let alone seven! So what are the means to do so? And most importantly, why do we need to eat so much of them?

Fruits and vegetables are very important to stay healthy and are a great source of essential nutrients for the body. They naturally contain these nutrients such as fibre, antioxidants, fructose (natural fruit sugar) and various vitamins, minerals and trace elements. They also tend to be low in fat.

What about sugar in fruits?

Fruit contains natural sugar called fructose, but it should not be a reason not to eat them. Fruits contain many other nutrients, and the great benefits of these far out-weigh the amount of sugar you get from eating a piece of fruit. But do keep an eye on your intake; try to balance your daily needs with 2-3 servings of fruits and 4-5 of vegetables.

So what are some of the best ways to hit the “magic number” of fruits and vegetables every day?

1. Add fruit to smoothies and shakes to make a delicious drink

2. At breakfast, add slices of fruit on your cereal or oatmeal, or sliced tomato or avocado on your toast

3. Fruit and vegetables are healthy snacks – have a piece of fruit or cut vegetable sticks such as carrots / celery / peppers (Add hummus or salsa to make them more interesting)

4. Keep the fruit bowl full at all times, you are more inclined to reach for a snack that is easily accessible in your home or in your bag

5. Dinner is a great way to increase your vegetable intake. It is easy to put more vegetables in a wok for a stir-fry or eat as a side with your dinner

6. Variety in cooking is necessary to relieve boredom. Try something new every day: fried, grill, boil, poach, steam or bake

7. Although it is best to always eat fresh; frozen and canned fruit and vegetables are also fine. If you choose canned fruit, go for it, but select ones without the sugary syrup, and make sure they are low in salt and sugar

8. One glass of unsweetened 100% juice is also considered one of your portions

9. Grow your own. They always seem to taste far better when you put the hard work into them yourself!

10. Buy seasonal products – they taste better and are normally cheaper

Then head to your local street -market, fruit and vegetable shop or to the supermarket and get plenty of those healthy, tasty and nutritious fruits and vegetables.
