The best way to prevent back pain

Unfortunately there is no sure way to prevent back pain, because there are so many things that can cause the problem. One of the leading causes in back pain is heavy lifting and not taking the correct safety precautions that need to be followed when lifting over a certain wait. Another good idea when doing heavy lifting would be to wear a back brace. This will help you to keep your back straight and stabilize it correctly. Chiropractic better for Neck Pain than Drugs

When it comes to pain in your neck, the question people are asking if Chiropractic therapy is better than pain medication. According to new recent studies health officials are saying they would suggest pain pills as a last resort. Why is this, and how does Chiropractic therapy work better? Take for example the fact that going to a chiropractor gives an advantage because they are qualified to treat things like neck pain. They know and are trained to find out the root causes of the problem so that it can be fixed, or at least lessened without the help of potentially dangerous and addictive pain medications.

Some people today prefer the pain medication over going to a Chiropractor, because the pain medication has a faster reaction rate of dulling and even temporarily getting rid of the pain. However this is only temporary, and going to a chiropractor can help determine the underlying problem so it can be fixed and not just masked. People are so up in the air about how wonderful pain medication can be, but they’re not looking at the bigger problem of the situation.

Chiropractic better for neck pain than drugs

Pain medications can be addictive and habit forming, and that’s not good for anyone. The longer you take pain medication the more likely you are to become dependent on that source for pain. Having a Chiropractor look into the problem is probably the safest and best way because it is all natural. About 90 % of patients that undergo chiropractic treatment have reported that they have no pain at all after 12 weeks of treatment. Exercise is big part of helping to get rid of the pains well. Exercise helps to work and maintain important muscles in your body to help it move and function properly.

With a combination of chiropractic therapy and exercise it is proven that it is more successful of being pain free over taking pain medications that only mask your pain temporarily. So before deciding on taking pain medications, you should try scheduling an appointment to see a chiropractor first. It is more likely going to be the best way to eliminate the pain completely it is definitely a more natural way to go and a lot healthier to boot. It is not dangerous to your health like pain medications are and can be. Going all natural is always the safest way to go, no matter what the problem.

Cervicogenic Headache and Chiropractic Treatment

There are three types of headaches which are most commonly experienced by people of all age groups, specifically by adults and elderly. They are categorized as vascular or neurological headache, muscular or myogenic headache and cervicogenic headache. The common neurological headache is migraine which presents vascular symptoms. Muscular or myogenic headache is typically tension or anxiety associated headache. Cervicogenic headache is usually caused by a combination of neural and skeletal problem in the neck.

The origin of a cervicogenic headache may be perceived at the neck but in reality the cause is in the spine. Different types of cervical sprain including whiplash, physiological ailments such as arthritis and injury in the neck, spine, shoulders or anywhere in the back can cause cervicogenic headache.

The most common and obvious symptom of cervicogenic headache is a consistent and steady pain at the base of the skull, in the neck, throbbing pain in the forehead and behind the brows. The pain can also stretch over to the shoulders, the blades and to the arms. Upper back pain is not often felt but it exists and is suppressed by the more strenuous pains in the neck and head. Stiffness in the neck, muscle stiffness and immobility around the neck and shoulders are also common. Some associated symptoms of cervicogenic headache are vomiting, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and blurred vision.

Cervicogenic Headache and Chiropractic Treatment

There are not many cures of cervicogenic headache in conventional medication. All drugs that are prescribed for cervicogenic headache are aimed at reducing the pain and are thus painkillers, antidepressants and anti-inflammatory drugs but none of them actually target the root cause of the problem. The symptoms may be controlled but the ailment is not cured with such attempts.

Chiropractic treatment is the best solution for cervicogenic headache. Chiropractic treatment doesn’t use any medication or invasive procedures. It simply uses manipulation techniques and various physical therapies to offer a solution. Chiropractic treatment is safe, cost effective and also doesn’t lead to any side effects which are unavoidable with all medications that you would otherwise take.

According to a study, people suffering from cervicogenic headache when subjected to chiropractic treatment experienced reduced disability and pain. 50% of the people reported reduction in all pains, 33% reported reduction in medication usage and 50% witnessed reduction in headache frequency.

I thought I’d need Medication to feel this Relaxed

I first came across Abbey Chiropractic in the Ilac Centre when I received a Free Spinal Examination, as I was suffering from back pain.

There are many things that I liked about the treatment I received; the clinic has a nice friendly atmosphere and everything was clearly explained to me as we went along. I also received excellent coaching on exercises that are helping me build up support muscles in my back.

Since starting chiropractic care my back pain and muscle tension have greatly improved, my anxiety levels have dropped and I now experience a relaxation that I never had before. Another unexpected bonus is that my digestive problems and allergies are much less of a problem and people tell me I’m looking better! The extra energy I have is also a very nice added bonus.

When I speak to friends and family about chiropractic, I tell them the results speak for themselves! Before going on to recommend the treatment to them.

I thought I’d need medication to feel this relaxed!

I was suffering with constant pain

Before I came into Abbey Chiro for treatment, I was suffering with constant pain and numbness in my leg, arm and neck.

What I have like best about the treatment is that my suffering has eased considerably. I am now more open to alternative measures of healing as opposed to taking medication.

I was quite sceptical of this process and tried to go in with an open mind – I am very grateful that I did – the Chiropractor I was assigned has engaged with me in every step of my journey to recovery and I am glad to say that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel – if you have never been before, don’t expect miracles overnight, it can take a number of visits but in my opinion, if you do commit, you won’t regret it.

I would highly recommend the clinic – a friend convinced me and I am so glad she did. The practice offers a professional service in a lovely environment, they are excellent at keeping your appointed time, staff are friendly and tea and coffee are always on offer!

Chiropractic Care and Children

I first discovered Chiropractic after my child was born. She had a condition called “Congenital Hip Dislocation” and was also allergic to Calcium, both of which made her very grumpy and difficult. The chiropractic doctor I took her to was very gentle when treating her.

I saw results almost immediately. I was very relieved to be able to treat her without medication. I continued to get her checked every six months or so by the chiropractor to made sure her spine stayed aligned. The doctor educated me at every visit, so I learned a lot about the relationship between the health of the spine and one’s health in general and ability to fight off disease and infection.

I now know prevention is better than waiting until something goes wrong. My daughter is now nine and has never been to a hospital or GP. She has never had to take pain killers, anti-biotics or medication. If I see she may be picking up something or if she has a pain anywhere I take her straight to my chiropractor and immediately the symptoms either subside or completely disappear.

I thoroughly recommend Chiropractic to other mothers as a very safe, reliable and quick treatment for any condition your child has.

Just call into a chiropractic clinic. Most clinics offer a free check-up where they screen your spine and answer your questions. You can then see if it suits you.

Abbey Chiropractic is very inviting and a really nice place to go to. The staff are very friendly and professional. Most of all though, you get immediate relief from symptoms.
